Cheryl Conway

Cheryl Conway has been using the Thermolysis procedure for permanent hair removal for 20 years. She studied and practiced in Philadelphia, working with The University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital. After relocating to Beverly Hills in 1997, she specialized in Eyebrow Design. With this expertise she will analyze and execute proper corrections to achieve the perfect shape for each individual patient.
Cheryl is also an Expert Consultant for the California State Board of Cosmetology and has her Teaching Credential in Vocational Education, Designated Subjects. She pioneered the creation of California’s first apprenticeship program for Permanent Hair Removal. She established the program with the help of the Division of Apprenticeship Standards and the Department of Education to teach students the highly specialized procedure of Thermolysis for permanent hair removal.
Thermolysis offers patients an FDA approved medically proven, safe and effective procedure for the permanent removal of unwanted hair. “While some patients seek our services for purely cosmetic reasons, we receive many referrals from Dermatologists to treat cases of folliculitis, Endocrinologists for conditions that cause symptoms of hirsutism, and Cosmetic Surgeons for reconstructive surgery cases.”
As a member of the American Electrology Association and the Electrologist Association of California she finds continuing education an essential part of practicing Permanent Hair Removal as an Allied Health Field.
Vanessa Coronado
Vanessa was born and lives locally in Oxnard CA, graduated from Channel Islands High School, attended Oxnard College, and the University of California at Berkeley. During her time in school she had the opportunity to study abroad and has traveled extensively to Asia, Europe and South America.
Vanessa first came to Hair Free Forever seeking treatment for her own hair problem then found out about the Apprenticeship program;
"I was always interested in learning how the procedure worked because the treatments I received really changed my life."
She was accepted as an apprentice and completed extensive training under the direct supervision of accredited master educator and pioneer of the California Apprenticeship for Thermolysis; Cheryl Conway, owner of Hair Free Forever, who comments;

Aunika Stratton
Aunika was born and raised in Ventura, California until relocating to Northeastern Colorado with her family when she was in the eighth grade. While in High School she was involved in volleyball, basketball and was on the high school dance team. Living on a cattle ranch, Aunika's real passion was her horse, Smokey.
"Moving to Colorado allowed me to live a totally different lifestyle. I would never have raised a steer in Future Farmers of America, baled hay or learned welding if I had stayed in California. I now realize how special that time was for me and I return to Colorado to visit family, friends and my high school teachers every year."
Upon returning to Ventura in 1995, Aunika attended Ventura College and Santa Barbara City College. She graduated with a B.S. Bio Psychology degree from University of California Santa Barbara.
Aunika, too, was a client turned professional, so the caring and compassionate way she treats her patients is a direct result of her own experience. Once accepted as an apprentice in the training program developed by Cheryl Conway, owner of Hair Free Forever, Aunika excelled quickly. "Her energy and enthusiasm is demonstrated in her work ethic and the way she relates with colleges and patients alike."
Aunika's spirited personality and attention to detail instills an added quality we all truly appreciate and enjoy. In addition to Thermolysis, Aunika loves Pilates, gardening, cats, being with her family and breathing in the lovely Ventura ocean air.

Veronica Abel has 19 years of experience as a make-up artist, is a licensed aesthetician, and owner of Venus Aesthetics & Cosmetics. Joni Holling
Joni Holling is a Spiritual and Intuitive Life Coach holds an M.S. Ed in Counseling, a B.A. in Psychology with Sociology and Family Relations minors, is a Reiki Practitioner, Master NLP Practitioner, is certified in NLP and Hypnotherapy, also has training in Dream Analysis, and has taught on the college level.
After graduate school she veered off course for a few years and worked in an industry that did nothing to enrich her own soul. She felt lost and began the search for that inner inner wisdom, voice, and connection. Through that journey Joni was able to rediscover her own essence and reconnect to her own spirit the voice we all have within. Now Joni goes to work every day with joy as she helps others find their way.

I was born in Montreal, Canada to a wonderful Mom who knew about beauty and health. We were drinking wheat grass juice, eating home-made yogurt, butter, bread, brown rice with lentils, and gardening organically way before it became fashionable. (Let me tell you I really wanted to eat bologna and mac n’ cheese from the box at my friend’s house…HA! HA! Not a chance! I had to go home for the good green stuff!)
If Mom had been a business woman we would have made a fortune being the first to make and market power bars which were waiting for me after school. Mmmmmm!!! Wonderful carob molasses peanut butter bars with different kinds of nuts rolled in coconut…
She also knew how to care for our skin. She’d create wonderful creams, clay masks, potions for this and that, and mayonnaise with olive oil for the hair, and massage me after bath time. Rub, rub, rub she did! I even have a picture to prove it!
This is where the journey began for me.
I moved to California about 20 years ago and began my formal education in the Spa industry working at Wheeler Hot Springs where was inspired to learn massage. Later, I worked at Body Essential and The Ojai Valley Inn and Spa where I received formal training in body treatments. This is when I learned how powerful nurturing treatments are when you have great products! Later came opportunities to work in Jordan, and Saudi Arabia and I worked in filming productions for a bit, where my gifts were appreciated, but I missed the relaxing, specialty settings and returned to the spa world with The Oaks of Ojai and The Day Spa. I loved learning and seeing the results so much, I also studied to become an Aesthetician and also enriched my menu of offerings further by adding training in Medical Aesthetics…

Stephanie Sullivan
Stephanie Sullivan, a cancer survivor and owner of Healing Hands Massage, is now adding Lymphatic Drainage Therapy to her list of specialties after completing her training. CHERYL CONWAY, A CALIFORNIA STATE LICENSED ELECTROLOGIST, has been doing the Thermolysis procedure for permanent hair removal for more than 15 years. She studied and practiced in Philadelphia, PA working with institutions such as The University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital. Cheryl relocated to California started her practice in 1998. She has worked closely with local physicians and estheticians.
IRENE VAGI, of Ventura CA, has successfully completed the training and passed the licensure examination from the State Board of Cosmetology to become the very first apprentice of Electrology in the state of California.
Established by local Electrologist, Cheryl Conway, with the support of the Division of Apprenticeship Standards and the Department of Education, the program teaches students the highly specialized procedure of Thermolysis for permanent hair removal.
